FTSE 100 edges into positive territory


Banks Barclays and RBS were among the FTSE 100’s biggest losers on Monday morning, both dropping nearly 1%.But the biggest faller was troubled doorstep lender Provident Financial, which shed 3.2%.At the other end of the scale, the biggest climbers were IT business Micro Focus International, up 2.5%, and miner Antofagasta, which rose 1.5%.Overall, the 100-share index was just in positive territory by lunchtime, up 1.04 points or 0.01% to 7,325.02.On the currency markets, the pound was up 0.16% against the dollar at $1.2895 and 0.18% higher against the euro at 1.0969 euros.
